Daybreak Canyon is committed to employing staff of the highest character, talents, and education that we can find. We have an innovative approach to management and compensation with staff and we anticipate a much lower turnover ratio than the industry standard. Having a great group of staff that stay and are consistent is vital to the success of the program and efficacy with youth. The vast majority of our staff will have a Bachelor's degree or higher. We have an experienced Master's level therapist that has worked with youth for years in several settings. We will also employ a certified recreational therapist. All staff will be trained, well supervised, and encouraged to be part of every youth's life. All staff will be expected to walk the walk not just talk the talk.
DC plans to use a 1:6 staff to student ratio during all awake hours. When youth are sleeping there will be one awake night staff on duty for 20 youth with at least one other staff present on site (may be sleeping). All staff will be trained in CPR, First Aid, CPI, and all other program and state required subjects.
