Janice R. McArthur, Ed. D.
Principal
Janice has a BS degree in Child Development. A Masters of Education (M.Ed.): Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading. She also has a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.): Curriculum and Instruction.
Janice has taught in public schools for over twenty years, the last 12-15 of that time as a Reading Specialist in the Inner City. During this time she also taught as an adjunct professor (part-time) for various colleges and in a GED program. From there she moved to a full-time position at the University level for 12 years, where she was Chairman of Elementary Education for 10 years.
Janice is a proud grandmother and leads a busy and exciting life. After her "retirement" from teaching, she has had time for numerous hobbies. Her two favorite hobbies are reading and knitting which she does at home or while traveling. Janice is an incredible humanitarian and has traveled to Mexico, Ecuador, and Haiti to work with orphanages in these countries. She also had the opportunity to do some work with high schools and colleges in Vanador, Armenia in 2007. She loves to travel and to help others and is always looking for that next great place to go and help.
We feel extremely fortunate to have her as our principal, she offers a wealth of knowledge and experience as well as being a great motivator by virtue of her life and all she has accomplished and continues to accomplish.
